Top 10 Mock Draft
1. Oakland - Calvin Johnson - I think oakland wants to make some strong strides towards a veteran QB like Josh McCown. McCown fits oaklands offense because he’s mobile in the pocket and he has a strong arm for downfield throws. Perfect for receivers like Moss and CJ.
2. Detroit - Joe Thomas - According to John Clayton of ESPN Detroit is NOT interested in Quinn. So I assume that they will take Thomas. They are also not thrilled about taking the 2nd overall pick. The Lions do not have alot of picks in this years draft, and most likely they will look to trade down.
3. Cleveland - Brady Quinn (Adrian Peterson) - I am hoping that the Browns take Peterson, but I know Quinn is a Browns fan and grew up in Ohio. He even wore an orange shirt to meet with the Browns yesterday.
4. Tampa Bay - Gaines Adams - I’m going to pretend that Quinn is not picked by browns for the remainder but instead Peterson. Bucs could pick up Quinn or Russell, but I think that since CJ is off the board they will fall back and pick up some much needed defense help. Rice is getting old and coming off an injury, Gaines Adams looks attractive for #4 overall.
5. Arizona - Amobi Okoye - Since Adams is off the board Okoye fits well into their defense needs. They are also hurting bad at O-Line but no one else is available to be considered a top 5 pick. Arizona will look to patch up defense.
6. Washington - Patrick Willis - The Redskins are missing a playmaking MLB. Willis is the man to make it happen. It would also be nice to see Beason take this spot, and create an unstoppable Miami tandom with Taylor. However Beasons showing in the combine will probably not land him high in the draft. But expect big things down the road.
7. Minnesota - Jamarcus Russell - You didnt think that he would fall this far did you ? Well according to every other mock draft, this looks crazy. But it is a definate possibility.
8. Atlanta - Levi Brown - This was a coin toss between Brown and Landry. Landry would be an excellent addition to their defense. However I think the plans this year is to turn Vick into more of a “Quarterback” So staying in the pocket would be easier with Levi on the roster.
9. Miami - Brady Quinn - This of course is a how I would like to see things. However I think that Quinn may not drop this far. If Oakland takes CJ then Tampa or Atlanta will not trade up with Detroit. Detroit is in need of more draft picks and it makes sense to swap with Detroit and take Quinn. If Culpepper isnt healthy all we have is Lemon, and I like them both but I would like to see us draft a future star. Last time we drafted a QB in round 1 was 1983, Marino. We are WAY passed due for another Marino.
10. Houston - Leon Hall - Texans need to upgrade their defense. Hall would fit perfectly into their defense and give them the playmaker they have been looking for.
