Miami Dolphins 2007 Draft.
As of this writing I am very excited about what Cam Cameron has been doing with the team so far. I’m excited that he decided not to hire an offensive coordinator, and that he will be calling the plays himself. I’m excited that he scraped off all of our mediocre players with high salaries.
Cam went ahead and signed Free Agent Joey Porter to add to an already impressive defense. I know I’ve already mentioned this, but I am very excited about the possibilities with the new dolphins team.
Yesterday I just heard that the dolphins are interested in speaking with Brady Quinn and JaMarcus Russell.
I would like to see Miami trade up for the 2nd pick of the draft and acquire Brady Quinn. It is about time that the Dolphins franchise pick up another Marino. Why not JaMarcus you ask ? Well I have alot of respect for Russell and think that Russell has more physical talent then Quinn. It would be nice to have that strong arm throwing touchdown passes to Chambers. However he has a tendency to lock onto his primary target at times and will throw into double-coverage too frequently. He also did not play in an overly complicated offensive scheme at the collegiate level and there are some concerns about how long it will take him to adjust to a far more complex system in the NFL.
I like Quinn for the fact that he shows a very good feel for a pro-style offensive scheme. A hard worker. He is a leader on and off the field, and his teammates have great respect for him. He is a deceptively good athlete. He possesses above average arm strength, puts adequate zip on down field passes and flashes the ability to throw into tight spaces when he sets his feet and is able to follow through. Touch and timing on deep ball are outstanding. He shows the ability to adjust his release point to find a passing window, while still throwing accurately underneath.
To conclude I think that Cam’s approval rating will sky rocket with either QB draft, and he will definitely win me over with a decision to select Quinn.
